Fifty-Two on Friday – “Wide Open” (34/52)

This week for Project 52 the assignment was “Wide Open.” Wide open in camera terms means that the aperture or lens opening is as open as it can go. This lets in the most light and has the effect of blurring the background due to shallow depth of field. It was a fairly simple assignment because I shoot wide open about 80% of the time. I love this method because it really lets you focus your attention on the subject. The following photo was shot during an engagement photo shoot and will be used as a Save the Date magnet I’m currently in the process of designing. It was shot with a Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM zoom lens wide open at 2.8.
